What is Certified Residential Thermographer (CRT)?

  • Introduction to thermal imaging and IR Certification for Residential Infrared use. No experience in thermography is necessary!
  • Collect quality data, accurate temperature readings, and understand the benefits of using thermal IR in home inspection applications.
  • Interpret thermograms and make informed decisions using heat transfer concepts to analyze images, and see the latest in report generation and database software.
  • Avoid costly mistakes- learn to distinguish between hot spots and reflections, direct vs. indirect readings, and qualitative vs. quantitative thermography.

What is Infrared Moisture Detection (IMD)?

  • A 1-day certificate course to learn how to effectively utilize an infrared camera to identify moisture in building components under varying conditions
  • The IMD is now Day 1 of the 2-day CRT Certification class
  • The IMD can be scheduled as a stand alone 1-day course
  • CRT graduates renew their 3-year certification by completing the IMD
  • IMD graduates can earn the CRT by attending Day 2 of the CRT class

The CRT class is not an ASNT NDT Level 1 Thermography four-day course.

Time to Renew Your CRT Certification?

Your CRT certification is valid for 3 years. Renew your CRT through any of the following paths:

    • Attend and complete the 1-day IMD Class to receive your IMD certificate and CRT Recertification – cost $395 – Note: No State CE’s for the one-day IMD
    • Attend and complete the 2-day CRT class to recertify (certain states provide CEs) also receive your IMD certificate with your CRT Recertification – cost $395
    • Complete a qualifying ASNT Level 1 or Level 2 class, send a copy of your certification, CRT certification now valid for the 5-year term of Level 1 or 2

Save money and save time

The CRT class is geared to the new infrared camera owner and user and the course focuses on thermal imager use for Home & Building Inspectors. Students complete the course with a much stronger understanding of Thermal Imaging capabilities and applications as well as the confidence and competence to immediately put that knowledge to use. Infrared is a powerful tool that helps you find, identify, quantify and communicate today what would be a much bigger issue to your customer tomorrow.

Certification – Attendees successfully completing all training course requirements, including a course examination, will receive confirmation as a Certified Residential Thermographer from one of the recognizing home inspector associations. Recognized by ASHI, CAHI, CREIA, GAHI, FABI, InterNACHI/TPREIA, MAHI, MeCHIPS, NCLHIA SEHI, OAHI, VAHI, WAHI. The CRT class is now approved in many licensing states for CE credits.

*** Some state continuing education credits and/or training locations impact whether an Early Bird discount can be offered. Confirm on the specific scheduled class registration page which will detail if the Early Bird is available.

CANCELLATION POLICY: All course fees must be paid prior to the beginning of class. Please notify Monroe Infrared if you are unable to attend a course you’re registered to attend. Students can change their registration to another Monroe Infrared class of equal or greater value without penalty up to 5 business days before the course begins. With fewer than 5 business days notice changes are subject to a 25% change fee. Monroe Infrared cannot honor change requests received after the start of class.  Once training manuals are shipped no refunds are granted. Students can transfer to a different class to be completed within 12 months from original scheduled class date. Students are encouraged to transfer to an alternate class instead of cancelling their registration.  If a refund is requested and approved the amount refunded will be the original registration fee minus any non-refundable credit card fees.
Should Monroe Infrared postpone a course due to instructor illness, weather or for any other reason, all registrants will be notified as early as possible. Monroe Infrared’s liability will be limited to rescheduling of the class in a reasonable time or the return of the registration fee minus credit card processing fees if no alternative scheduled training date is occurring. Registrants are advised not to purchase non-refundable or non-changeable airline tickets or hotel accommodations as Monroe Infrared will not be responsible for payment of rescheduling/cancellation charges due to class changes.
