SUMMARY:Virtual - IMD & CRT Class
DESCRIPTION:We’ve enhanced the benefits of our Certified Residential Thermographer course by baking in the Infrared Moisture Detection Course.\nBy taking a two-day CRT course you instantly receive all of the benefits and material from the IMD class and its certificate to share on your business profiles. The IMD Course is 1-day and covers the topics listed below. During the first day\, you will learn the basic science of thermography as it is used to detect moisture in building components. This 8-hour course is designed to familiarize you with basic heat transfer concepts and the limitations and capabilities of today’s thermal imaging systems. We will then cover the settings in the camera menus. Lastly\, we will discuss the requirements and conditions needed to find and locate moisture/water using thermal imaging systems. \n \n\n\nIMD – Infrared Moisture Detection Course Details\n\n\n\nThis is a one-day class to deliver the knowledge needed to utilize an infrared camera to detect moisture in building components.\nWe will discuss and explore those conditions that will not yield results so that we know what to avoid.\nWe will explore emissivity\, reflectivity\, the evaporative cooling effect\, thermal capacitance\, and many more conditions that make moisture detectable.\nWe will discuss and train you on the settings in today’s cameras that will lead to a more thorough analysis.\nWe will also discuss and share many images and discuss how to interpret and report those issues found.\nHands-on camera operation and actual moisture detection to finish out the day.                                                     \n\n\n\n CRT – Certified Residential Thermographer Course Details  \n \n\n\n\nIntroduction to thermal imaging and IR Certification for Residential Infrared use. No experience in thermography is necessary!\nLearn to collect quality data\, accurate temperature readings\, understand the benefits of utilizing thermal IR in home inspection applications\, and more.\nInterpret thermograms and make informed decisions using heat transfer concepts to analyze images\, and see the latest in report generation and database software.\nAvoid costly mistakes- learn to distinguish between hot spots and reflections\, direct vs. indirect readings\, and qualitative vs. quantitative thermography.\n\n\n\nAdditional Information:\n\nEveryone needs to have both a working webcam and microphone.\n\nStudents need to download the ZOOM program to their computer. If you need to test ZOOM\, open the program and utilize its test features. You can test your audio and visual with their test features and get diagnostic assistance.\nBill Fabian\, your instructor\, will send you an email with additional class information on the prior week. Please respond to his email; then he will send you the ZOOM link. Class starts at 9:00 AM Eastern Standard Time. Please sign in to the training at or prior to 9:00 AM to avoid disrupting the beginning of class.\nCRT Students: This class is a two-day commitment with an exam on the last day. Your manual will be sent to you digitally on the day of or the day before class through a locked PDF. If you would like a physical copy of the manual you may purchase one by calling our office. Please provide at least 5 business days before your CRT class in order to ensure your manual arrives on time.\nIMD Students: This one-day commitment is from 9:00 AM EST to 5:30 PM EST. Students only taking the IMD portion of the class will remain online from 5:00 PM – 5:30 PM to take their exam while the remaining students will log off and take the CRT Test and receive their associated CEs for the course the course the following day.\nIf you have an infrared camera\, have it available and charged up to get hands-on experience of various concepts; Although\, an infrared camera or equipment are not required to take the course or understand the information.\n\n\nRecertification Information:\nThere are 3 options for recertification.  All 3 are the same price $450 US.  All recertification options require you to provide your last CRT certification date. \n\nIf CE’s are needed\, you must take the 2-day recertification course.  \nOption 1 – Attend day 1 of the CRT class (which is also the Infrared Moisture Detection Class) and take and pass the test at the end of day one – renews your CRT  and also receive the new IMD certificate. \nOption 2 – Attend day 2 of the CRT class\, take and pass the test at the end of day 2 – renews your CRT for another 3 years \nOption 3 – Take both days of the CRT class – Renews your CRT for another 3 years plus receive the new IMD certificate and get 16 CE’s from ASHI or InterNachi. \n\n\n\n\n\nCourse schedule:\nIMD Only –Tuesday\, July 14\, 2026 – 9 AM – 5:30 PM Eastern Standard Time \nCRT  – Tuesday & Wednesday\, July 14 & 15\, 2026 – 9 AM – 5:30 PM Eastern Standard Time \n\n\n\n\n\n  \n\n\nNOTE BELOW – ONE TICKET MEANS ONE CLASS REGISTRATION SEAT.\nYour manual will be downloaded on first day of class.
