No experience in thermography is necessary!\nLearn to collect quality data\, accurate temperature readings\, understand the benefits of utilizing thermal IR in home inspection applications\, and more.\nInterpret thermograms and make informed decisions using heat transfer concepts to analyze images\, and see the latest in report generation and database software.\nAvoid costly mistakes- learn to distinguish between hot spots and reflections\, direct vs. indirect readings\, and qualitative vs. quantitative thermography.\n\n\n\nAdditional Information:\n\nEveryone needs to have both a working webcam and microphone.\n\nStudents need to download the ZOOM program to their computer. If you need to test ZOOM\, open the program and utilize its test features. You can test your audio and visual with their test features and get diagnostic assistance.\nBill Fabian\, your instructor\, will send you an email with additional class information on the prior week. Skilled users of the new FLIR GF-Series cameras and the legacy GasFindIR camera can inspect over 3\,000 connections per day. Current sniffer technology is limited to about 500 connections per day. This provides organizations with the most efficient LDAR inspection technology so they can meet many required emission reduction actions\, including regulatory oversight like the USEPA OOOOa for the Oil and Gas Industry.  \n\n\n\n\n\nStudents will learn how to set up and operate FLIR optical gas imaging cameras. They will learn how to optimally adjust their cameras for varying environmental conditions to find gas leaks. Students will learn under what environmental conditions gas leaks are most easily found\, somewhat easy to find\, and difficult to find. \nThis class will teach students which gases can be found with FLIR optical gas imaging cameras and leak size limitations. Some basic infrared theory and heat transfer concepts will be introduced to build a strong foundation. \nLab and/or field practice in finding leaks is a key part of this class.
